Summer vacation will be here soon, and along with skateboarding, roller-blading, biking, baseball and the other outdoor activities kids enjoy comes the possibility of accidents that chip, break or dislodge teeth.

According to a recent survey by the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry of its members, 60% of all injuries to the mouth and teeth that require cosmetic and reconstructive dentistry happen to children during June, July, and August of each year.

There are a number of suggestions I can provide to help parents protect their children’s teeth without keeping them away from activities they love, and what they should do if a dental injury does happen.
